FAQ : Troubleshooting

When trying to send outgoing mail I receive an error: "571 Remote sending only allowed with authentication"
MyRealBox requires authentication for sending remote mail messages. This is done to prevent spamming and to protect you. To prevent this go into your account settings and check the box labeled "My server requires authentication"
I have tried using SMTP to send a message and get an error stating that it can't connect. What's wrong?
Your problem is most likely that your ISP will not allow outgoing SMTP connections. Many ISPs block these connections in order to prevent spamming. If this is the case please contact your ISP and ask them for their SMTP server. You can still send as a MyRealBox user with their SMTP server.
I've configured to proxy my email but I haven't received anything yet. What's wrong?
Some ISPs only allow access to a mailbox if you are dialed in via their access points. In such a case you cannot proxy your email. Also, the proxy process runs every three hours to pull email, so it might take a little while longer before you get your email.
When typing in International characters, why do some characters not come across?
You must select the character set UTF-8 encoding within your browser.
After clicking the Send button, I'm presented with a login screen. What happened and was my email sent?
If you see the login screen, it means your session timed out. However, by loging in again your session will be resumed. This occurs because you took longer to compose your message than the predefined time-out period allows. Your email will be sent once you login with the screen presented. You can change the amount of time MyRealBox waits before timing-out your session, the time-out period is changed in Preferences / Options.
Times are wrong on all my emails.
MyRealBox requires you to set your time zone so that it can display the dates and times correctly. Please go into preferences and set it. After doing so they will show up correctly.
I am on a Yahoo! Groups mailing list and have stopped receiving my mail. What's wrong?
The Yahoo! Groups mailing lists have been a major source of spam over the last couple years and have been getting worse and worse. We have tried to work with them many times but they have done nothing to prevent the spam. We are sorry to tell you that because of this we no longer accept any mail from Yahoo! Groups.
I deleted an email by mistake, can I get it back?
When you select the delete box and select Apply, the message is marked for deletion and not actually deleted. You can retrieve the message by checking the undelete box again and clicking Apply. To permanently delete a message, click the delete button and also select Purge Deleted Messages.
I am not receiving any email messages. What's wrong?
You could have exceeded your quota. To check if you have exceeded your quota please login and check the "Mailbox Used:" statistic, which can be found in your Folder view.
When I try to send a message, I get an error stating "You have more recipients than are allowed". What's wrong?
We will only allow you to send to a maximum of 15 recipients per email message.
Why does Eudora hang when I try to download messages?
This usually happens when your Network Buffer size is too small. To change your Network Buffer size please make the following change in Eudora: 1) Click on Tools and choose Options and then find the Advanced Network options category. 2) Increase the Network Buffer size to 8192 bytes and then click on OK.
When I try to login I receive an error message stating "Your session has timed out".
